Eligibility
Who qualifies, and who does not.
Written to be decidable. You should be able to read this page and know the answer for your own organisation without contacting us.
01 / The test
Two conditions. Both must hold.
- 1. Organisation type
You are one of the following:
- A school that is state-funded, government-funded or otherwise non-fee-charging, at primary, secondary or equivalent level. Includes district and multi-school trusts applying on behalf of their schools.
- An organisation formally registered as a nonprofit, charity, NGO, association or equivalent under the law of its own country.
- 2. Purpose
- Your work is not primarily commercial, and any surplus is reinvested in the mission rather than distributed to owners or shareholders.
There is no size threshold.
A two-person nonprofit and a national charity are equally eligible. We chose not to set a headcount or budget cap: budget size is a poor proxy for whether the tool is useful, and caps mostly punish organisations for growing.
02 / Where
Geography.
We accept applications from anywhere we can lawfully provide the service. In practice that means the platform must be legally available in your country and we must not be prohibited from supplying you under applicable sanctions and export rules.
The interface is in English today. That is a real limitation, not a preference, and it will constrain who this is useful for until it changes.
If you are unsure whether your country is covered, apply. Checking is our job, not yours.
03 / Exclusions
Who we will decline.
Stating these openly is fairer than letting people find out after they have filled in a form.
- Fee-charging private schools. Where tuition fees are the main funding source. Bursary-heavy or state-subsidised cases are worth applying with an explanation.
- For-profit companies, including social enterprises structured to distribute profit to shareholders.
- Political parties and campaign organisations whose primary purpose is electing candidates or partisan campaigning.
- Organisations that discriminate in who they serve or employ on the basis of race, ethnicity, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion or belief.
- Anyone using it to profile or surveil the people they serve. The platform is for an organisation’s own knowledge, not for building records on its beneficiaries.
- Where supplying you would be unlawful for us under sanctions or export control.
Being outside these categories is not a guarantee of approval. Capacity is finite and we will say so plainly if it is the reason.
04 / Evidence
What we ask you to show.
One link. We are trying to confirm the organisation exists and is what it says it is, not to audit you.

We do not ask for financial statements, board lists, beneficiary numbers or demographic data. None of it would change the decision.
05 / Staying eligible
Renewal, and what would end it.
Access runs for twelve months and renews on a short confirmation that nothing has changed. There is no limit on renewals and no point at which we convert you to a paid plan without asking.
Access would end if:
- Your organisation stops meeting the criteria on this page — for example, it deregisters or converts to a for-profit structure.
- The workspace is used to profile or surveil the people you serve.
- The information in your application turns out to be materially untrue.
In every case we would write first, explain, and give you at least 30 days to export your data. We would not lock a workspace without warning.
